"I will come down..."

Numbers 11:16 – 17

The LORD said to Moses, “Bring me seventy of Israel’s older leaders, men that you know are leaders among the people. Bring them to the Meeting Tent, and have them stand there with you.  17I will come down and speak with you there. I will take some of the Spirit that is in you, and I will give it to them. They will help you care for the people so that you will not have to care for them alone.

2 Corinthians 3:12 - 18

Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:  And not as Moses, who put a veil over his face so the people of Israel would not see the glory, even though it was destined to fade away. And even today, when the Old Testament is read their minds are blinded and hardened because this veil can be removed only by believing in Christ. But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.  So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

Exodus 33:7   And Moses took the tabernacle, and pitched it without the camp,

afar off from the camp,

and called it the Tabernacle of the congregation.

The Tent of Meeting was pitched far away from the camp so that it was not easy to get to.

This gives us a threefold lesson about being changed by Impartation…

  1. You must value it
  2. You have to desire it
  3. You have to seek after it
