Why Relationships?

E-mail Print PDF

Why should Apostles concentrate on Relationships?

Jesus ministered to large crowds and had a tremendous healing ministry BUT he never discipled the crowds.

Jesus did his most important working with people “one on one” and in “small groups”. This is where he reproduced himself.

While he was working in the healing ministry he cleansed 10 lepers but only one came back to thank him.

While he was discipling his primary small group he worked with 12 people. 11 became great leaders and only 1 fell away…

What had the better results? Healing ministry or Discipling ministry?

What motivates people to seek a healing ministry? Many times it is:

  • Pride
  • Power
  • Fame
  • Money

Many time Ministers start out caring about people but that is often forgotten once Pride starts to swell because of their Power, Fame and the Money they start to see.

What motivates someone to make disciples through relationships? Mostly it is:

  • Caring about people
  • Servanthood
  • A desire to see the Kingdom of God established

So, it seems apparent that discipling people through personal, one on one ministry and in small group produces more fruit than a healing ministry. If that’s true then why do so many people today seek for healing ministries? Why are we not learning how to be effective with small groups and one on one ministry?

Building the House With Praise

E-mail Print PDF

There are many ways that people try to build the Church today but Jesus said that He wants to build His Church. When we use man's methods and ways to build His Church we labor in vain! The Lord wants to build a "Glorious Church"...

He has given us Glory in our innermost being and we release it through Worship and Praise. The Word tells us that He is "Enthroned in Glory". We build a Throne for Him when we release our Glorious Praises! In this teaching you will see that water represents Glory... Clouds represent Glory too. And, when we release the "Rivers of Living Water" out of our mouths through Praise He comes and inhabits our Praises. When the atmosphere is full of Glory "we are changed... from glory to glory by the Spirit of the Lord". So, get ready to offer Him Glorious Praises in your Church and the Lord will build it up!

Psalm 22:3     “But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.” (Our praises become a Throne for the Lord  to sit upon!)

Psalm29: 10  “The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever.”

Isaiah 19:1     “…Behold, the LORD rideth upon a swift cloud

Here is a definition of Glory... In Greek it is Doxa and in Hebrew it isKabod... It is an opinion, a hint, a whisp, a thought or feeling that is made manifest with the mouth. So we Release Glory as we think about Him and then open our mouths and Praise Him!

Matthew 12:34          “…for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.”

Psalm 50:23   “Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me:”

John 7:38       “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”

Revelation 4:9,10 And when those beasts give glory and honor and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever…

Do you want the Presence of the Lord in our Church? Of course! So, we must offer praises full of Glory to Him so that He will come and sit upon His Throne and do Kingdom Business!

When this truly happens the world will come and believe!

2 Chronicles 9:1-7 9:1  And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great company, and camels that bare spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart. And Solomon told her all her questions: and there was nothing hid from Solomon which he told her not. And when the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, and the house that he had built, And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel; his cupbearers also, and their apparel; and his ascent by which he went up into the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her. And she said to the king, It was a true report which I heard in mine own land of thine acts, and of thy wisdom: Howbeit I believed not their words, until I came, and mine eyes had seen it: and, behold, the one half of the greatness of thy wisdom was not told me: for thou exceedest the fame that I heard. Happy are thy men, and happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and hear thy wisdom.

Even the unsaved will Glorify God when they see your Glorious Worship and Praises.

This is the way to build the House of the Lord! It is in true worship in which we Glorify God and Lift up Jesus! When we do that He draws all men unto Himself!

This article is "Meat for the Mature"... There are too many today who call Jesus "Lord, Lord" but they don't do the things He says... I've included some ancients texts in this article to show just what Jesus meant when He called someone to "Be My Disciple"...

THE FLOW OF THE ANOINTING

Psalms 133 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.THE ANOINTING FLOWED DOWN FROM AARON'S HEAD TO HIS FEET...

Shifting to Apostolic Leadership

E-mail Print PDF

This article will help you understand the shift from a Pastoral to an Apostolic Leadership style

The role of the Apostolic Leader is by its very nature Visionary. The role of a Pastor is that of a “care giver”. The two are not mutually exclusive but there are some major differences between the two. If you look to the military for an example you will find two people that fit these roles:

  1.       The General who is concerned with troop movements, enemy lines, communications, weaponry, supplies and advancing the attack against the enemy.
  2.       The Medic/Chaplain who is concerned with the physical and spiritual health of the troops and the care of the wounded.

Both men are on the same “team” but they have priorities and concerns.

  1. The Apostolic Leader priorities are always strategic.
  2. The Pastor’s priorities are always care related.

In our Churches today those Ministers whom we call Pastor are being called to shift to Apostolic Leadership so the Church can strategically move towards advancing the Kingdom of God.

The Genesis Mandate

The Genesis Mandate

Genesis 1:26-28          “…God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.”

The Great Commission

Matthew 28:18-20                 ‘Then Jesus came up and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, as you go, disciple all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you every day until the end of the age.”’

The Great Commission is an “Apostolic Mandate” because it was first given to the Apostles. The basic definition of the word apostle is to be “a Sent One”. It is taken from the Greek word “apostolos” meaning a delegate, an ambassador of the gospe1, one commissioned, and a messenger, he that is sent.

Before Jesus used the word Apostles” the Greeks and Romans used it to describe special envoys that were sent out for the purpose of advancing and establishing their empires. These Greek and Roman apostles were usually Admirals or Generals who had proven themselves in battle. They were “sent” to advance and establish the Greek or Roman culture all throughout the world. They were commissioned, or authorized, appointed, charged, empowered, dispatched and entrusted with their mission.

In other words; they were given the authority and the power to accomplish the task.
